Srinagar, October 24 (KNO) : A team of Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir visited Trechal village in Pulwama district, a spokesman said on Wednesday. The amalgam said that "the forces personnel there had let loose a reign of terror after a mine blast some days back at about 9.30 pm and smashed all the window pans and doors and household goods and property including fridges, washing machines, electronic gadgets, etc. of the residential houses adjoining the blast site besides ruthlessly beating everybody who came in their way particularly the womenfolk.""These unruly forces have fractured limbs of a number of persons including minor boys, young ladies and aged persons and even tried to molest the women folk as per the statements of the victims of their barbarity," a spokesman said in a statement issued to KNO. He said that after the severe blast, these forces went berserk and entered the nearby houses by breaking open the doors and mercilessly thrashed the inmates with gun butts and bamboo sticks. "Some of the female victims have shown biting marks on their bodies and some appeared with swollen faces and fractured arms. Other victims showed multiple injuries caused due to merciless beating by the infuriated personnel. As many as twenty light vehicles have been damaged with their wind screens smashed fully or partially," he said. Jama’at delegation has expressed its sympathy with the victims of this hooliganism by the Indian armed forces. “This inhuman action is the worst possible violation of the fundamental human rights having no justification even under the Indian constitution or legal system but under the protection of the draconian law of Armed Forces Special Powers Act, the Indian armed forces deployed in Kashmir have crossed all limits of brutality while dealing with the innocent people of Kashmir," he said. Jama’at while vehemently condemning the ‘inhuman attitude’ of the Indian forces, demanded a high-level probe by some impartial judicial agency into such ‘atrocities’, which tantamount to the ‘state sponsored terrorism'.(KNO)
